NMAT that is generally known as NMIMS Management Aptitude Test is a national level entrance exam. This exam is managed by the Graduate Management Aptitude Council (GMAC). NMAT is a postgraduate level exam that is organized to get admission in MBA or other graduate management degree programmes. These programmes are offered by various colleges such as the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Study (NMIMS) and other colleges. Here, we are providing the detailed information about NMAT 2017 application form, admit card, result, exam pattern and counselling.

NMAT Registration

  • The application form of the NMAT has been released.
  • Candidates may check the exam dates section above for complete schedule.
  • The candidate can fill the form only through online process.
  • The NMAT application form 2017 is available from 4th July 2016.
  • The last date to fill the application form is 3rd October 2016.
  • The candidate can also fill the form with late fee till 12th October 2016.
  • The application form fee will be submitted through online or offline process.
  • The fee will be accepted through Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Debit Card, Net Banking, Diners Club and Demand Draft.
  • The demand draft will be issued in favor of Graduate Management Global Connection (India) Private Limited payable at Gurgaon.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who wants to appear in the NMAT 2017 examination, they have to fulfill the eligibility criteria that are given below.
  • Candidate should have to complete a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from a recognized University for MBA and MBA HR in Mumbai Campus. They have to score minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.
  • Those Candidates that want to join MBA Pharmaceutical Management course in Mumbai campus, they have to pass their Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in Pharmacy, Science, Life Sciences, MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biotechnology from a recognized University. Candidates have to score minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Postgraduate degree holder’s candidate in Economics, Psychology and Sociology can also apply.
  • Candidate who completes their graduation with B.Tech or B.E in Bio-Tech or Bio-Medical can also apply.
  • Candidates who working in a Pharmaceutical Company for more than two years are also applicable for this exam.
  • Candidates who want to apply for the PGDM programme in Bangalore and Hyderabad campus, they have to qualify their Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.
  • Appearing candidates of final year examination of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.

NMAT Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: NMAT will be held through computer based mode.
  • Type of Exam: It will be an objective type multiple-choice test.
  • Subjects: The exam will comprise in three parts: Language skills, Quantitative skills and Logical Reasoning.
  • Duration: The time duration of the examination is two hours (120 min).
  • No of Questions: There are 120 questions will be asked.
  • Negative Marking: There is no process of negative marking.
  • Retake Norms: In case, the candidate will not satisfy with their marks in the first attempt then they can schedule for the retake.
  • No of Attempts: During the year, candidate will be allowed to take the exam as maximum of three times.
  • Merit: The highest score in all three re-takes will be considered for the final merit.

Preparation Tips

Exam Slot Booking

Once the candidate registration and payment will be received by the conducting authority they will get an email with their username and password. After that, candidate will be allowed to schedule their exam. Candidates will be able to select the exam date, time slot, and test centre of their choice on the basis of seat availability. The exam slot will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Admit Card

The candidate will get the admit card through the online process from the official portal of NMAT. After the application form payment acceptance by GMAC, candidates can able to take the printout copy of the admit card with photograph. If a candidate can opt to retake the examination, they have to retain the same admit card that they carried in their first attempt.
Note: candidate will not get the same test centre as allotted them for your previous attempt(s).

Result

The NMAT result will be announced in the 17th January 2017 on the official site. Once the result will be published, candidate will be receiving an email indicating that the result is announced. At the same time, the candidate score card will be sent to the schools that they selected at the time of form filling.

NMAT Cut-off

After the result declaration, the conducting authority released the cut-off score range as the examination section. Candidate scores will be included as scaled score for each section of the exam, a total score as well as a percentile ranking. Here, we are providing the table lists as score ranges possible on the various sections of the exam.

Admission Procedure

After the result announcement, the admission procedure will begin. On the basis of the score in the examination, the merit list will be released. As per merit list candidate will be selected for the admission procedure. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Case Discussion & Personal Interview that is conducted in Mumbai and Bangalore (if required). For these rounds candidates have to carry their NMAT Admit card. All the shortlisted candidates download their call letter from the official website. They also need to bring their call letter for the CD/PI process. No separate call letter will be mailed to the candidates. On the premises of the academic marks obtained, NMAT marks, work experience and Case Discussion – Personal Interview, the final merit list will be prepared. On the basis of the final merit list, candidates will get a seat as per the preferred institutions.
